Brazilians and japaneses watched together the match between Brazil x Japan for the World Cup in Germany. Athletes of both countries, who are in Sao Paulo for the Table Tennis Brazilian Open, leg of the World Pro Tour, cheered with the goals before them on a giant screen set up in a room at the Sirio Sport Club, where the event is taking place until Sunday (25th).

The Japanese started ahead 1x0 from the "Jico's" squad. On the crowd supporting their national team were the Japanese girls, leaving aside the nervousness of the beginning of the match.

"Honestly, I  didn't expect Japan to even score a goal against Brazil", said Hiroko Fujii, Japanese table tennis player.

But it was after a goal from Ronaldo "Phenomenon" that the Brazilian party began, with whistles and trumpets sound on the background.

"I hope he scores load of goals today to break the jinx that over him. Plus it would be quite nice if he also breaks the record of goals scores in a World Cup for the Brazilian team", said Thiago Monteiro, the best Brazilian player on the world ranking (91st). A huge football fan and top player of the Brazilian squad of table tennis, Thiago also criticized Ronaldinho. "He isn't playing all that he can", he added.

Near him two athletes from Spain who were also watching the match couldn't resist:

"It was a goal from Real Madrid, from Cicinho e Ronaldo!", cheered Alfredo Carneiros to his fellow Carlos Machado. Besides the Spanish, players from Portugal, Argentina, Italy and Paraguay also watched the dispute between Brazil x Japan.

"It is unbelievable how Brazil stops for footbal. In Portugal we really like it, but it's not like here at all", Tiago Apolonia, who is the main Portuguese player, commented in awe of the noise and fireworks that were going on during the whole day.

Cazuo Matsumoto and Gutavo Tsuboi, who were disputing the qualifying for the main draw of the men doubles, stepped on the room where the match was being screen at the precise moment of the Japanse goal. They predicted:

"Don't worry, we will have to leave soon to play another match of the qualifying and Brazil will turn the score over", said Cazuo, in good spirit, after being told by everyone he brought bad luck to Brazil.

"It's going to be 4-1", Gustavo guaranteed.

Said and done.

"I think it is as improbable for Japan to win a World Cup as it is for Brazil to World table tennis champion", teased Kaii Yoshida, the star of the Japanese squad in Sao Paulo, number 44 in the world ranking.
