As the draw of the Sigles' event came out, the coach Lincon Yasuda analyzed the first matches of the Brazilian players. In the female, with the exception o Ligia Silva, pre-qualified, the other players had to go through the qualifying and always against really tough opponents, players such as Carnelia Vaida and Sandra Paovic, from Croatia. It so happened that none of the girls went to the next round. "Now it is up to them to play the Under-21 tournament, which will be equally difficult, but our girls will be have more chances to fight for it", he said.

Ligia on the other hand is going to play the young Korean, Yun Yun Mi. "She is a fast player, whose strongest weapon is her right handed attacks. It will be a very interesting match, where Ligia has good chances of winning; however she won't be allowed to make too many mistakes". Lincon has high hopes for a good performance o the male squad. He believes the first stage has worked to the advantage of the Brazilians. "The male singles has become really interesting for our players. Hugo Hoyama is going to play agains Christian Larsen from Denmark, a player who has been beaten by us in the World Championship in Bremen. Though, Larsen still has excellent possibilities of victory. Thiago Monteiro will face Pen Zhang from Canada, a match that will depend on how quickly Monteiro can adapt to his opponents style", he finalized.
