CURIOUS FACTS FOR THE ZAGREB'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Inside of some days we will have in the city of Zagreb - Croatia the beginning of one more individual World Championship and in couples. Chinese are the big ones favorite to the main title, in fact as it is happening there are already some years.  

Wang Liqin will be defending his/her title conquered two years ago, in his/her home town, Shangai - China.  

Some curiosities and statistics of the last world championships: 

- The Koreans that already conquered two medals of gold in Olympic Games, with Yo Nan Kyu (1988) and Ryu Seung Min (2004) they never won a world championship.  

- The largest winner of all of the times in World championships is Hungarian Victor Barna, with five titles in 19 participations in World championships (1929-1954). 

- Europe takes advantage of Asia in the amount of masculine individual titles with 26 and 22 (China with 13 and Japan with 9 adds the 22 titles of Asia). 

- In the last 30 years, Europe won 40 medals in individual world events only 12,5% of the 320 medals that were argued.  

- Some European ones gave a lot of work to Chinese in período.de 1989 up to 2003 (Waldner expired in 1989 and 1997), Persson (1991), Gatien (1993) and Schlager (2003). 

- Only three left-handers won the World Championship. First Stellan Bengtsson, second Seiji Ono and third Jean-Philippe Gatien. 

- Jean Michel Saive will be the player in Croatia that more World championships argued.
