SRI LANKA ALSO PRODUCES GOOD TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS

Girls High School, Mount Lavinia, on the Southern coast of Sri Lanka, produces good table tennis players. The girls are the current champions of the Western Province.

When I visited the school last year, the principal showed me the warped tables the girls were playing on and of course, the school did not have the funds to invest in a new table. One year later, on 4^th January 2006, I had the pleasure of handing over a new Tibhar table to the young table tennis players of Girl's High School, Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka. The table was offered by the President of the Swaythling Club and former World Champion, Ms Diane Schoerler and her friend the late Gisella Fuchs.

The Principal of the school in her speech said that her dream would be to produce not only a Sri Lankan Western Province Champion but an Asian or World Champion. I hope the new table brings the girls luck. Thank you Diane, thank you Gisella.
